TESTIMONIALS:
As a lover of old books and paper, I was delighted to come across Teresa’s workshop! It was the perfect opportunity to build a whimsical scene using my favorite photo of my mother. I’ve read many online instructions about making altered books, but nothing compared to participating in Teresa’s workshop and being inspired by her guidance. It was wonderful to see her art pieces up close, and she was so generous in sharing her ideas and materials. Teresa offered a friendly atmosphere to work through your own creative ideas, while encouraging you to consider design options and share with the others in the class. It was quite uplifting and opened a whole new world of art for me! I’m excited to build more altered book dioramas and look forward to attending more of her workshops. -Natalie M.
I really enjoyed the time that I spent with Teresa during her workshop. It was so nice learning how to fold book pages in different ways and play with 3D shapes- so many possibilities. Her attention to detail gave me a new perspective to my own ideas. Her nice selection of materials made you enter an enchanted world so close to nature. -Irina K
"This project was done in memory of my son Ethan. The lyrics are the song “Heart” from Damn Yankees and were a favorite of his - indicative of his positive and loving spirit! Every item on this project has meaning...
family was very important to him so I included a family picture as well. Ethan died in 2005 as a result of his multiple brain and spinal tumors and the overall structure of this project evokes an image of my sweet angel." -Pam L
“The Altered Book workshop was so much fun! My daughter and I each created a treasured work of art from books she read as a child. For me, it was an enjoyable way to memorialize a part of our shared history together and our love of reading. I am not usually very creative, but Teresa's supportive coaching put me at ease.”

"Teresa was a guest in my university classroom for several years. Her enthusiasm, creativity and calm demeanor were inspiring and also relaxing, making her approach very accessible to students. In a world in which young people (and adults!) can sometimes feel the pressure of performance and perfection, she offered a different model – one that centered on being present and allowing for the unfolding. It was deeply enjoyable and exciting to create works that we had never encountered before. I recommend her for workshops with participants across the age span."
